The Traditional and Local Knowledge (TLK) Team supports the inclusion of Inuvialuit Traditional and Local Knowledge in wildlife and fish management decision making in the Inuvialuit Settlement Region. This is accomplished through providing support to projects related to Inuvialuit Traditional and Local Knowledge of wildlife and fish, liaising with researchers and co-management partners, acting on the behalf of Inuvialuit interests surrounding Traditional and Local Knowledge related to wildlife and fish and managing data, and infrastructure that house Inuvialuit Traditional and Local Knowledge.

The TLK Team also care-takes the Inuvialuit Traditional Knowledge library and archives and works on data sovereignty initiatives to ensure that Inuvialuit Traditional and Local Knowledge collected through research and co-management processes are guided by the principles of OCAP ®
